General Overview:

The position is responsible for AM L-PBF machine setup, build operations, metal alloy powder handling, and maintenance requirements of multiple EOS, SLM, and GE AM machines. This includes addressing alarms and assisting with process improvement to ensure business results are achieved.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Setup, operate, and maintain metal AM L-PBF machines
  • Adhere to safe alloy powder handling procedures during loading, sieving, and cleaning
  • Perform daily PM maintenance activities
  • Adhere to AS9100 driven processes, procedures, and work instructions
  • Operate wire EDM and Dual column bandsaw
  • Perform post processing functions such as powder removal, support structure removal, and visual inspection
  • Record technical data to ensure traceability, quality control, and maintenance tracking
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Observe and follow all company safety rules and policies
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping as a high priority
  • Maintain a FOD free environment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in either a prototype or job shop environment setting up and operating manufacturing equipment required; metal AM L-PBF machine familiarity a plus 
  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawing
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009
  • Experience in QMS such as ISO-9001, AS9100 or equivalent preferred
  • Able to safely operate hand-held pneumatic and machine tools such as chisels saws, drills, and grinders
  • Highly self-motivated and able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Pragmatic and pro-active problem resolution skills required
  • Superior organizational skills and analytical skills as well as time management and prioritization abilities
  • High standard of attention to detail required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with different levels of management and teams
  • Must be punctual and have good attendance
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid Driver’s License and able to pass full background check and drug testing
  • This role requires compliance with the U.S. State Department’s International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Commerce Department’s Export Administration Regulations, which require U.S. citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency (Permanent Green Card)

Physical Requirements: 

  • Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and drawings and to inspect machined parts closely
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work
  • Able to lift or carry up to 50 lbs. independently
  • Stand, squat, kneel, or sit for extended periods of time
